Sadly, the krazy glue wasn't as krazy as it could have been. Some of the tabs didn't stick as well as others.

Cut and Score
The cut and score project was a nice change of pace for me. I sure as hell wasn't as frantic about trying to learn how to do everything, because it was all very straightforward.

Modeling a Screwdriver (Sadly, Not the Sonic Kind)
We've begun modeling actual things - I'm moving up in the world!
The general idea for this sketch was kind of a gimme - just sketch half of it and revolve the half-sketch around the y-axis. However, screwdrivers are actually more detailed than one might think. Each notch (is that what you'd call it?) in the screwdriver was pretty challenging to get right.
Sadly, my several attempts at the indents in the sides of the screwdriver were futile, but I want to try to find a way to do that yet.
Voila. I'm pleased that it actually looks like a screwdriver.
(I'll update this post with a photo of the actual screwdriver for comparison's sake.)

3-Dimensional Sketches...
This was not the prettiest encounter with 3-D drawing...It's so different when you're using a computer rather than sketching something with a pencil and a protractor.
In-class version
This one, for some reason, wouldn't revolve when I entered the specifics for it. I think it might be because the sketch isn't fully constrained. Damn you, green lines.
Again, I wasn't sure how to fix my constraint problems...that's something I'm gonna have to work on.

Holy 3D Prosthetics Batman!
So here's a cool thing I came across today. A company called Anatomics 3D-printed a ribcage for a man in Spain. A RIBCAGE. A functional ribcage for an actual human. That puts this whole 3D-printing thing into perspective about how it can change the healthcare system exponentially.

Technical Drawings #1
Technical drawings from Week 2:
Disclaimer: for the 2+ hours I spent on these...I'm pretty proud. I guess I can only improve from here?

Motivational First Post
There was a study done in London about how long, on average, it takes to form a habit. The results posted an average of 66 days to form a continuous habit. I am awful at keeping up with blogs...but I think the idea that I have to keep up with this for class will help me at least get into the habit of it, seeing as this class goes for much longer...If I keep telling myself that, it'll be true, right?
I've never had the pleasure (or should I say frustration) of using Autodesk Inventor extensively...so this will be a new adventure.
